Field Service Technician - Production Printing Systems

Locations: Quebec, Ontario, Alberta

The Field Service technician provides on-site customer service and technical support to maintain our technologically advanced high-speed cut sheet and continuous feed printing systems.  Through preventative and corrective maintenance, the person in this position ensures customer equipment performs at an optimal level of quality and efficiency.  The ideal candidate must be completely trustworthy, responsible and well organized.  Preference will be given to those candidates who are available to work 24/7 in a field service environment. 

Job Responsibilities


  • Install, de-install, upgrade systems and subsystems and perform direct maintenance, as required.  Perform corrective maintenance under the given work order.  Perform required preventative maintenance for optimum product performance.

  • Provide standby after hour support as per rotation schedule.  Work shift(s) required.

  • May be dedicated to on-site support at a major account.

  • Follow-up and feedback on Support recommendations, tech tips, tool updates, etc.

  • Maintain all products to current supported level of microcode/firmware/software applications

  • Perform operator and customer training on new and current products on a regular basis.  Keep current with all new products by completing appropriate web based training and attending classroom training, as determined by manager. 

Qualifications


  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in technical field support within a mainframe or print server printing environment servicing complex, electro-mechanical devices, or in a directly related role or work environment.
  • Minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent.
  • A+ and N+ Certifications or equivalent.
  • Education in electronic/computer component repair or equivalent work experience a plus.
  • PC literacy and understanding of basic network concepts.
  • Microsoft Office and printing systems service software proficiency a plus.
  • Possess operational knowledge of testing/diagnostic equipment.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Preference will be given to those candidates who are available to work on a 24 hour a day, 7 days a week basis.
  • Must maintain a valid driver’s license.
